Join us for a wonderful time as the Valentine Area Arts Council presents storyteller and folk musician Chris Sayre, in partnership with the Nebraska Star Party.

We are blessed to enjoy two performances by Chris Sayre in Valentine, Nebraska on Thursday, July 24th.

Both performances will be held at the Niobrara National Scenic River Visitor Center at 214 US-20 in Valentine, NE. 

​

At 2 PM Chris Sayre will perform a Musical Journey Across America: Songs that Helped Shape a Nation, which will take us on a journey reflecting the rich and diverse music of the continental US ranging from the engaging sea shanties to the pioneer songs of the American West.

​

At 6 PM Chris Sayre will perform a Musical Smorgasbord: Music From Various Ethnic Groups in Nebraska, a musical program about the songs and melodies that were brought to Nebraska by the various European ethnic groups who settled here in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Both concerts are FREE to the public. A free will donation will be taken at the door.

Humanities Nebraska (HN) provided major funding for this program. HN receives support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Nebraska State Legislature, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and private donations.​​​​​
